Questions about ReplayPip
Why is the daily chart disabled? Will a trade survive a page refresh? Here are answers about the current version of ReplayPip, including its data limits and simulated orders.
Is ReplayPip free?
Yes. The current replay tools are free to use. Optional PayPal or Stripe support does not give contributors additional trading features.
Do I need an account?
No account is required. Account-based saved sessions and reports are not available in the current version.
Are Buy and Sell real orders?
No. They create simulated positions inside the replay session. ReplayPip is not connected to your broker and cannot execute real trades.
Why can’t I select a daily chart or a particular date?
A date must fall within imported history for the selected pair. Higher timeframes require complete UTC buckets of minute data. If that coverage is missing, the timeframe is disabled. This is a data limitation, not a subscription restriction.
Does the chart show live forex prices?
No. The platform reads stored historical candles for replay. Provider imports happen separately and are not triggered each time you visit the chart.
What happens if my stop and target are both hit?
The simulator processes stop-loss first when both levels are touched in a candle. OHLC data does not establish which price occurred first within that candle. See Data & methodology for pending-order and gap rules.
Will my trades and drawings be saved?
No. Trades clear when you reset or load another pair, timeframe or starting date, and when you reload. Drawings can remain across timeframe changes for the same pair and date, but clear on pair/date changes or reload. Keep your own notes.
Can I use the site without accepting analytics?
Yes. Reject analytics leaves the replay available. Google Analytics loads only after you accept; use Cookie settings in the footer to change your choice.
Does a successful replay prove my strategy will make money?
No. Historical outcomes do not guarantee future results. Data gaps, the selected test period and omitted trading costs all affect interpretation.
